IOHA lifetime Achievement Award

It is with much pleasure that IOHA presents its third Lifetime Achievement Award to Berenice Isabel Ferrari Goelzer.

The IOHA Lifetime Achievement Award was established in 1995 to recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to the practice of occupational hygiene on an international scale.

Ms. Goelzer's outstanding work in the occupational hygiene field has spanned five decades and many continents throughout the world. Her efforts to promote occupational health and hygiene in industrially developing countries at WHO for over 25 years have proven instrumental to the initiation and implementation of numerous international programmes and initiatives. A major contribution has been her foresight to promote the harmonization of the occupational hygiene profession in all nations. Her efforts continue to this day to unify and synchronize the training and curriculum of graduate programs in occupational hygiene worldwide. Her work has been accomplished within the professional path of a practitioner, rather than researcher. Gaining the accolades and respect of the international community as a practitioner speaks volumes to the sustained efforts of this remarkable woman.
Ms. Goelzer's energy, expertise, and altruistic nature have guided and propelled her efforts on behalf of our profession throughout Europe, the Americas, and the world.
