Call for papers
The Organising Committee is pleased to invite you to submit papers for oral or poster presentation at the conference. Abstracts must be submitted for all presentations at the conference. Selection of contributions will be based on peer-review by the Conference Scientific Committee. A set of these abstracts will be supplied to all participants on arrival.

Submission of abstracts
The selection of contributions will be based on the peer-review by the Conference Scientific Committee. A set of these abstracts will be supplied to all participants on arrival.

Abstracts must be in English (British or American styles and spelling may be applied). Figures and tables (graphic elements) can not be put in the abstract, due to the electronic submission form.

The abstract should be in sufficient detail to indicate the merit of any scientific content, the probable participant interest of the final presentation and the relevance of the content to the overall theme of the Conference.

Material presented should in general be of previously unpublished reports and original scientific or technical work, but may include that, which, although previously described elsewhere, has not been published in normal accessible, recognised and/or peer-reviewed journals.

Abstracts may preferably be submitted via the electronic form in this web-site: Abstract submission form.
No other electronic submission will be accepted.

As an alternative the abstract may be submitted in a single (A4) sheet camera-ready copy. Title should be in 14 point upper case and the rest of the text in 12 point Times New Roman. The authors should be listed by name, institution and address, with the name of the presenting author being underlined.

A covering letter should indicate the preferable method of presentation, orally or as a poster. The oral presentation will be 15 - 20 min. The name and address of the corresponding author should should be given in this covering letter.

Deadline for Abstract
Abstracts must be received before 1 October 2001. Abstracts submitted after that date will not be accepted. The secretariat will acknowledge all abstracts. Acceptance of papers and their inclusion in the Conference Abstract booklet is subject to the conference registration of the presenting author. Notification will be made not later than 1 January 2002, on receipt of which a brief biographical note (maximum 100 words) of the presenting author of a platform presentation will be required for the use of the Session Chair for an introduction to the audience.

Presentation
Assistance in the form of 35 mm slide facilities or video canon for electronic presentation will be provided for platform presentations. For electronic presentations, the presenting author is requested to contact the Chair in due time to prepare the technical facilities. Microsoft Power Point ® is preferable. For the parallel sessions, 35 mm slide, overhead projectors and flipcharts will be available. Facilities of posters will consist of panels approximately 0,9 meter wide and 1,2 meter high.

More information on the details of the presentations will be given to the authors on accept of the abstract.

Proceedings/Publication
For papers containing original material, in addition to the Keynote addresses, which are considered to be of particular interest, contributors will be invited to submit the full paper, as presented, to a peer-review publication in a special issue of The Annals of Occupational Hygiene.

The Annals of Occupational Hygiene is one of the central and prestigious journals within the scientific field of occupational hygiene. We hope that many of the presenting authors will take this opportunity for publishing their reports.

Presenting on the WEB
All the presenting authors are invited to present a full paper of the abstract, as presented, on the WEB-site of IOHA, www.bohs.org/ioha/. This will be a supplement to the ordinary publishing in The Annals of Occupational Hygiene. According to the principles for presenting papers on the WEB, the author is fully responsible for the content. There will be no peer-review, and the presentation will be active for approximately one year - until 1 September 2003. Those papers being published in The Annals will be withdrawn from the WEB in due time to meet the copyright. Authors are required to take the full responsibility for maintaining the copyright, if publishing their paper in other journals.

The organising Committee hope that such a presentation form will give the possibility to present work of good quality and of interest to occupational hygienists and other around the world. We think that this is an important contribution to the overall theme "A New Era for Occupational Hygiene" and we are happy to provide this possibility through the assistance of IOHA. You are cordially invited to visit the site: www.bohs.org/ioha/
